Persons with disabilities: Policy Statement
St Leonard’s Church appreciates that it has a duty to protect the people who worship in and visit its premises. It also has a duty of care to the volunteers to work within the Church building.
Our policy, so far as is reasonably practicable, is to provide suitable access hearing and visual aids and insofar as it is known to us, protection of children and vulnerable adults within the church building.
We provide a loop system, large print service sheets and large print hymnbooks. A ramp is available to provide easy access to the sanctuary. A toilet which is adapted for the use of persons with disabilities is in the Narthex of the church building.
Notices are displayed relating to care of children in areas where children’s work is carried out.
In order to ensure that vulnerability matters are kept constantly under review, an item will be on the agenda for all meetings of the PCC.
Signed
The Revd. Hilary Jowett
